It's Finally Happening! Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao Will Fight in the Boxing Ring

One of the most anticipated fights in boxing history is finally going down.

After over five years of back-and-forth negotiations, high hopes and constant let downs, fans will get to witness pound-for-pound greats Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao go at it in the boxing ring on May 2 in Las Vegas.

Mayweather, who is currently undefeated, confirmed that he and Pacquiao inked a deal when he posted a picture of the signed contract on Shots today with the caption, "I am glad my decision to meet with Manny and discuss making this fight happen helped get the deal done. Giving the fans what they want to see is always my main focus. This will be the biggest event in the history of the sport."

(Are you ready, Justin Bieber?)

Meanwhile, Manny took to Twitter and wrote, "I am very happy that Floyd Mayweather and I can give the fans the fight they have wanted for so many years...I dedicate this fight to all the fans who willed this fight to happen and, as always, to bring glory to the Philippines."

And fans didn't waste a single second when it came to locking down a room at the MGM hotel for the event. Practically minutes after announcing the big news, rooms at the Sin City hotel were sold out. Yep, sold out.

If you try to book a room online for May 2, their website will return with a note that says, "Regrettably, we are fully committed for your requested dates."
