Kim Kardashian "Didn't Get Anything" From Her Wealthy Parents--but Will North West?!
Long before the Keeping Up With the Kardashians stars had empires to run, they worked hourly gigs in retail and at their father's office. In an interview with London's Evening Standard, Kim talked about how even as a teen her parents taught her to appreciate the value of a hard-earned dollar.
"I saved up for this Dolce & Gabbana dress I really wanted, or like in high school these Prada shoes that my parents wouldn't buy me," the now 34-year-old mogul said. "And I remember they were $400, and I had to save for the entire year to get them."
She did, too, and she's all the better for it today. "We didn't get anything [from our parents]," she said. "We had to get a job if we wanted it. So I was working in a clothing store and I would save and save."
Kim wants to pass those same values on to her and Kanye West's 16-month-old daughter North West to "work for what she wants" too--when she's old enough, of course.
She added: "I was saying that earlier to my friends, 'I wonder what [North's] first job is gonna be'. And they were like, 'What? She's gonna have a job?' and I was like, 'Are you kidding me? Of course she is'. She will have to work for what she wants."
And what kind of work does mom think little Nori will be doing someday? "I don't know," Kim told London's Evening Standard. "She loves fashion. Maybe she'll be a designer. Who knows? It's too early to tell!"
One thing's for sure, though: North loves listening to her daddy's work! Kim gushed, "The best is when Kanye's recording in the home and we're in Mexico or whatever. And the music will be upstairs and she'll hear it, and it's really loud and you'd think it would disturb her, but I just kind of rock her to it, and she'll just pass out."
