Katy Perry Turns 30 Today! Celebrate the Singer's Birthday by Looking Back at Her Hair Changes Through the Years

Katy Perry has had more hair changes than we can count! From multi-hued locks to pinup pinned waves and braids--Perry is not one to shy from a complete hair overhaul.

The singer, who turns 30 today, has had more than her fair share of image transformations. (Who can forget the Britney Spears redux at this year's VMAs?) But some of our favorite Perry moments have been her bold hair color changes. She has gone pink, purple, green, strawberry blond and--her all-time favorite--blue, with plenty of transitional colors in between.

In 2014 alone, Katy has shown us "slime green" hair and a more Muppet-like red. For the latter transformation, Perry worked with in-demand celeb colorist Daniel Moon.

"Got dat hot wheels hurrr/play doe pink do by @majormoonn," she announced to her Instagram followers, showcasing a cute side-by-side with Animal from The Muppet Show.



Katy, a natural blonde, admitted in a 2013 Vogue interview that lighter locks "just didn't look right." She began dyeing her hair black at 15 and continued experimenting with different hues into her late twenties. But the star's hair play isn't only limited to color changes: The singer likes to switch things up with chic cuts, extensions, hair pieces and gravity-defying updos.

Perry has suggested she is more than ready to embrace the new decade of her life. "I hear that the 30s are a better version of your 20s, because you know what you want for yourself," she told  Harper's Bazaar in their October 2014 cover feature.

And we can't wait for all the color swaps and cuts to come in the next decade!
