Sofia Vergara Celebrates Husband Joe Manganiello's 39th Birthday With Chocolate Cake During a Low-Key Dinner

The Magic Mike XXL actor turned 39 on Monday, and his 43-year-old wife Sofia Vergara made sure it was a birthday to remember. The celebrations kicked off with a casual birthday breakfast at O'Brien's in West Hollywood. Not too long after, Vergara shared a picture from their wedding day with her Instagram followers. "Happy bday to the husband I always dreamed of," she wrote in the caption, adding three heart emojis. Manganiello replied via Twitter, writing in his wife's native tongue, "¡Te amo!" Later that night, Vergara posed for a "bday" picture with Manganiello at his low-key dinner.

Manganiello also received a birthday shout-out from his Sabotage co-star and friend, Arnold Schwarzenegger. "Happy birthday to my great friend, one of the most talented people around with the biggest heart - @JoeManganiello," he tweeted.

This is the first birthday Manganiello has celebrated with Vergara since tying the knot, and his second birthday with her since they began dating in the summer of 2014. The True Blood stud and the Modern Family actress got engaged on Christmas Day in 2014 after six months of dating and they got married on Nov. 21, 2015, in Palm Beach, Fla.
The couple's guest list topped 400 people, including Julie Bowen, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Ed O'Neill, Anna Paquin, Channing Tatum and Reese Witherspoon. Pitbull also performed during the reception. "There was my family and closest friends," Vergara told Ellen DeGeneres earlier this month. "My son, Manolo, was very excited to give me away. It was like a fairy tale. It came out perfectly how I wanted it, I have to say."

In lieu of gifts, the newlyweds asked their guests to make a donation to one of two charities: St. Jude Children's Hospital or Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.

Though her wedding "came out perfectly," Vergara was sad DeGeneres didn't attend. "Why didn't you make a little more effort to go?" she asked her friend and fellow CoverGirl spokesmodel. "It's not like they're not holding the production for you for one day!" The talk show host was apologetic, but explained that work commitments made it impossible. "I have a show every single day," she said, "and you had it in Florida."
