George Clooney Adopts a Dog for One Special Lady

George Clooney adopted a dog for one very special lady in his life.

The 54-year-old Oscar winner had puppy eyes on his mind when he set his sights on a rescued terrier named Nate before Christmas. The dog, which was born with birth defects and was skin and bones upon rescue, was being held at the LuvFurMutts Animal Rescue when the actor and philanthropist decided he wanted the pup to become a new member of the Clooney clan.

Though, little Nate wouldn't be an adorable Christmas gift for his wife Amal Clooney. Instead, the celebrity opted to gift the dog to another couple in need of a furry friend—his mom and dad, Nina and Nick Clooney. The wedded pair's very own terrier pet had recently died after ten years with them.

"George picked Nate out, then showed him to his Mom, Nina, on YouTube," the shelter announced on its Facebook page. "She watched his video over and over and she fell in love. He then asked his Father Nick how he felt about the way Nate walks and he replied 'I guess it sounds like he gets around just as good as we do anymore.'"

According to the post, George's assistant Angel called to arrange the adoption and the pup was delivered to his parents' home on Christmas Eve. The adoption service opted to keep the news a secret until now to protect the celebrity pair's privacy over the holiday season.

"What is impressive is the fact that George picked Nate out and Nick and Nina accepted Nate just the way he is," the post read. "They could have any dog in the world but they chose to adopt a dog who was crippled and could have been with LuvFurMutts for life."

Netflix Pumps Brakes on Will Smith Action Film ‘Fast and Loose’

  Netflix has slowed development on its upcoming action-thriller “Fast and Loose” which Will Smith has been attached to star in. The project has been moved to the streamer’s back burner in the days following the 2022 Oscars ceremony, during which Smith walked onstage and slapped Chris Rock after the comedian made a joke about the appearance of Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith. In the week before the Oscars ceremony, director David Leitch reportedly also pulled away from the project, electing to move to the Ryan Gosling vehicle “Fall Guy” for Universal.
