Marcus Paulk From Moesha Arrested for DUI and Pot Possession--See His Mug Shot

Marcus Paulk, a former child star who starred on the '90s family comedy series Moesha, has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and pot possession in Arizona.

The 28-year-old actor has not commented. He was detained early on Sunday.

Paulk was arrested at about 12:40 a.m. in Scottsdale after passing within a foot of a fire truck stopped on the side of the road during a call, court records and a police report stated, according to The Arizona Republic. A mug shot was released, showing him wearing a burgundy leather jacket.

According to the police report, as quoted by the newspaper, an officer pulled him over, smelled alcohol and had Paulk step out of the car. His eyes were "bloodshot" and "watery," he had slurred speech and swayed as he stood and police said he showed several signs of impairment during a roadside sobriety test and a blood-alcohol content of .109 after he took a breath test, the newspaper reported. Paulk told officers he was drinking Hennessy cognac before he drove, The Arizona Republic said, adding that they said they also found pot in the actor's pocket.

On Tuesday, prosecutors charged Paulk with two misdemeanor counts of DUI, with a blood-alcohol content above the legal limit of 0.08, and possession or use of less than two pounds of marijuana, a felony, court records show. On Feb. 9, Paulk has a preliminary hearing, during which evidence and potential witnesses are presented before a judge, who will decide whether to proceed with a trial or dismiss the case.

Paulk lives near Los Angeles. It is not confirmed why he had traveled to Scottsdale. On Sunday, the day of his arrest, scores of celebs flocked to Glendale, Arizona, located about 20 miles away, for the 2015 Super Bowl.

Paulk played Miles Mitchell, the younger brother of Brandy's title character, on Moesha. The family sitcom aired on the network UPN from 1996 to 2001. After the show ended, he went on to provide the voice of Myron Lewinski on the animated series The Proud Family and also appeared in the 2008 straight-to-video movie Another Cinderella Story and the 2012 film Red Tails.
