Iggy Azalea Pops Off on Papa John's Pizza and Gets an Immediate Apology...and Then Maybe Some Subtle Shade, Too

Iggy Azalea wants her pizza with a side of privacy.

Before she walked the Grammys red carpet (and became an internet meme), the "Fancy" rapper took to Twitter to wage war on a popular food chain. "@PapaJohns was my favorite pizza but the drivers they use give out your personal phone number to their family members," Azalea, 24, told her 4.2 million followers. "And the supervisors at @PapaJohns refuse to send pictures of their employess so you can identify who it is that steals your information," the Best New Artist nominee continued. "You know, to protect their privacy... Too bad they don't value the privacy of their customers also. #DamnShame."

Soon after, Papa John's Pizza replied. "#We should have known better. Customer and employee privacy is important to us. Please don't #bounce us!" the company tweeted, referencing one of her hit song titles.

Azalea didn't accept Papa John's Pizza's apology and shared two screenshots of text messaged she received. "@PapaJohns I ordered a cheese pizza but instead I got tons of calls and messages like this one," she tweeted. "@PapaJohns and this is all your supervisor has to say about it #ProfessionalAsF--k."

The "Black Widow" rapper threatened to take legal action against Papa John's Pizza, which is the fourth-largest delivery and takeout restaurant chain in the U.S. "I don't think data breach is funny," the four-time Grammy nominee tweeted. "I expect you to contact me to explain how you are going to rectify your breach of my personal information in a satisfactory and professional way or lawsuit will be filed."

The drama didn't end there.

Papa John's Pizza may have thrown some shade in Azalea's direction when it tweeted, "And the award for best duo goes to...Bacon Cheeseburgers & Pizza. #GRAMMYs." While it could have been a well-timed promotion for two of its menu items, it could have also been a sly dig at Azalea, who lost Best Pop Duo/Group Performance Grammy Award for "Fancy" with Charli XCX earlier that night. Instead, the coveted award went to A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera for their hit ballad "Say Something."

Azalea found a new ally in DiGiorno Pizza, which sided with the Australian rapper in the Papa John's Pizza debacle, tweeting, ".@IGGYAZALEA delivery. Smh." Azalea replied, "@DiGiornoPizza I know right!"

Netflix Pumps Brakes on Will Smith Action Film ‘Fast and Loose’

  Netflix has slowed development on its upcoming action-thriller “Fast and Loose” which Will Smith has been attached to star in. The project has been moved to the streamer’s back burner in the days following the 2022 Oscars ceremony, during which Smith walked onstage and slapped Chris Rock after the comedian made a joke about the appearance of Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith. In the week before the Oscars ceremony, director David Leitch reportedly also pulled away from the project, electing to move to the Ryan Gosling vehicle “Fall Guy” for Universal.
