Drake Pulls a Beyoncé, Drops Surprise Album If You're Reading This It's Too Late on iTunes

Drake pulled a Beyoncé Thursday night when he dropped a surprise 17-track album on iTunes!

Much like the self-titled album Bey surprised fans with in late 2013, Drake's If You're Reading This It's Too Late had no fanfare or promotional blitz leading up to its surprise release.

The Canadian rapper did put out a teaser video,"Jungle," that morning (warning: NSFW language) which had many fans wondering if he was planning to release a new mixtape. Few predicted, however, that the 14-minute clip (which featured a few small snippets of his new music) was actually leading up to an entire album release.

Drake gets rather introspective in "Jungle," saying that in "trying to balance my own sanity...I'm f--king drinking more, I'm smoking more. We're out here staying up so late it's early...I'm not losing it, though. I'm just venting. I'm just more worried about myself. I just gotta come home."

And so, Drizzy does! The clip features plenty of flashback footage of young Aubrey Graham back in his hometown of Toronto, as well as clips of his earlier days in L.A. The former Degrassi: The Next Generation star clearly had musical prowess from a young age, too (and there is nothing cuter than seeing a young, glasses-wearing Drake rapping in the family living room).

Back in August, Drake announced a new album titled Views From the 6 (an homage to Toronto's 416 and 647 area codes, per Complex). It's unclear whether this latest surprise album is what Views From the 6 evolved into or if it's a different project entirely.

In any case, If You're Reading This It's Too Late is available on iTunes for $12.99.
