One Direction Releases New Song "Ready to Run" Following Social Media Challenge

Another day, another brand-new One Direction song!

The British boy band just released "Ready to Run," the second song from their forthcoming album, Four!

The mid-tempo track boasts a pop-folk vibe and catchy beat as the guys sing, "This time I'm ready to run / Wherever you are is the place I belong / Cause I wanna be free and I wanna be young / I'll never look back now / I'm ready to run."

What more do you need in a 1D hit?

In a video message this morning, the group promised to unlock a new song for fans if they achieved several social media goals across multiple platforms--40,000 Twitter retweets, 40,000 Facebook shares, 4,000 Instagram comments and 4,000 Tumblr reblogs. Challenge accepted!

"We hope you like it and can't wait for you to hear the rest," Harry Styles tweeted after followers smashed the goals.

The band also shared an Instagram pic from rehearsal as they gear up for their performance at the American Music Awards and their worldwide On the Road Again 2015 stadium tour, promoted by Live Nation. The North American leg will kick off July 9 at the Qualcomm stadium in San Diego, Calif.

"Still rehearsing :)," the caption read.

"We could not be more excited about the new tour," Niall Horan said in a statement. "We've started rehearsing songs from the new album and can't wait for the fans to hear them live."

"We're just so very thankful to our amazingly loyal fans--they make it possible for us to play in these incredible places and continue to surprise us every day with their unwavering support," he added.



Meanwhile, Four will be released on Nov. 17. Excited?!

Netflix Pumps Brakes on Will Smith Action Film ‘Fast and Loose’

  Netflix has slowed development on its upcoming action-thriller “Fast and Loose” which Will Smith has been attached to star in. The project has been moved to the streamer’s back burner in the days following the 2022 Oscars ceremony, during which Smith walked onstage and slapped Chris Rock after the comedian made a joke about the appearance of Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith. In the week before the Oscars ceremony, director David Leitch reportedly also pulled away from the project, electing to move to the Ryan Gosling vehicle “Fall Guy” for Universal. After beginning to search for a new director, Netflix has now halted “Fast and Loose” in the days following the Oscars.
