Jennifer Lopez Buys $22 Million NYC Pad in Chelsea Clinton's Building

Jenny from the Block is moving up from the Bronx to Manhattan.

Jennifer Lopez dished out a whopping $22 million for a penthouse at The Whitman in the posh north Madison Square Park NYC neighborhood. With the hefty price tag comes 6,500 square feet, a two-level outdoor expanse and A-list neighbors like Chelsea Clinton and NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon.

Chelsea and husband Marc Mezvinksy purchased their pad for a sliver of J.Lo's price tag, splashing $10.5 million on the property back in 2013. The couple since welcomed daughter Charlotte Clinton Mezvinsky last month, which means Lopez's 6-year-old twins, Emme and Max, could have a new playmate in the next few years.

The Booty singer's four-bedroom, six-bathroom abode is nothing short of a pop star-worthy pad, with commanding views of Madison Square Park, a landscaped roof deck with a putting green, a chef's kitchen and a full-service doorman for the building. The penthouse is one of four units in the Manhattan building, which spans an entire block in the packed city. And in NYC, that's huge, people!

While the 45-year-old mega-star will undoubtedly dig her new ritzy new place, she hasn't forgotten about humbling childhood growing up in the Bronx.

"Although my childhood was filled with many happy memories, it was also spent in abject poverty," Lopez told E!'s Mark Malkin earlier this month. "I was one of the 17 million kids in this country who didn't know where their next meal was coming from. And I did everything to get food."

Lopez and ex-husband Marc Anthony have made several public appearances with Chelsea's pop, former President Bill Clinton, with the trio all attending Samsung's Hope for Children gala back in 2011. So potentially, J.Lo may already know her new neighbor. And if not, we're sure the two can squeeze in some neighborly bonding while hanging out on Jenny's 3,000 square-foot outdoor space.
